I just got back from the ACLU Day of Action to Restore Law and Justice Rally in Washington DC. Senator Dodd gave an impassioned speech on restoring the Constitution and reversing the Military Commissions Act.

Thanks to everyone who showed up. Here are the first ten minutes from the q&a live-streamed earlier today -- Tim Tagaris
Later this morning the Senate will vote to overcome a Republican filibuster that is preventing the Feingold-Reid-Dodd amendment from being considered as an addition to the Water Resources Development Act reauthorization. To discuss the importance of the amendment and what it means for American security, as well as why Senator Dodd has taken a firm position on ending the war through Feingold-Reid-Dodd, we're holding a live web chat via UStream.tv. Chris Dodd for President Policy Director Amos Hochstein and Deputy Communications Director Hari Sevugan will answer your questions about where Dodd stands and what is happening today in the Senate. You can ask your questions here in the comment thread. We'll do our best to respond in real time on UStream. The web chat will start at 10 AM EST and is scheduled for thirty minutes.

My New Job Rocks

Matt Browner-Hamlin's picture

Hello hello - my name is Matt Browner-Hamlin and today's my first day on the Dodd campaign. I've been blogging about progressive politics for over two years but this is my first time working on a campaign's staff. I'm joining the Dodd campaign now because I believe he is what we need in our next president -- he has boldly lead through his actions, based on his convictions to do what is right. I'm very excited to come help Senator Dodd become the next President of the United States.

I wanted to tell you about what I'll be doing for the Dodd campaign. As you can tell, we've just launched a redesigned version of ChrisDodd.com. I've joined the campaign to help add content to the site so that Senator Dodd's supporters will know what he and his campaign staff are doing as it's happening. I'll be traveling with Senator Dodd on his campaign trips. My blog posts will aim to give readers a window into the Dodd campaign - what we're doing, where we're going, and what Senator Dodd is talking about.

But my job will go far beyond writing about the campaign. As I travel with Senator Dodd around America, I'll be posting videos from the trail. Lots of video. We're going to be doing exciting things with live streaming web video that will provide viewers an insiders look into what Senator Dodd is doing. This campaign is going to be transparent in real time because we believe that the more people get to know Senator Dodd, the more they will like him.

I'm also going to be posting Twitter updates that are fed directly into the front page of ChrisDodd.com.

Make the Debate Video Free and Open

Senator Dodd delivered this letter to DNC Chairman Howard Dean this afternoon --Tim
Hon. Howard Dean May 4, 2007 Chairman Democratic National Committee 430 South Capitol Street Washington, DC 20003 Dear Chairman Dean: I write today to urge you to join the growing chorus of those in the blogosphere, those in academia and citizens from across the country who are urging major media outlets to release video of any and every debate during the 2008 primary election season into the public domain or make it available under a Creative Commons (Attribution) license.
