DODD CAMPAIGN RESPONDS TO RICHARDSON CAMPAIGN’S REFUSAL TO PROTECT IOWA CAUCUS INTEGRITY

Release text:

DES MOINES – Today, the Chris Dodd for President campaign in Iowa called on other campaigns to join in a pledge stating that none of their staff or volunteers who have come from out-of-state to work in Iowa will attempt to caucus or be counted as a caucus-goer on January 3rd. The campaign of Bill Richardson has refused to sign the pledge, calling it “disenfranchisement.”

Chris Dodd for President Iowa State Director Julie Andreeff Jensen released the following statement in response to the Richardson campaign’s refusal:

“The intention of this pledge is to ensure that Iowans, and only Iowans, are participating in the Iowa caucuses on January 3rd, and the Richardson campaign knows that. It's disappointing that they would entirely reject the priority of protecting the integrity of the caucuses, rather than working with us to alleviate any concerns they may have about specific individuals.”
