It has been a busy week in the Dodd campaign. Momentum from the presidential debate at Dartmouth and the buzz that Chris Dodd created with his bold stance on the war is growing. When asked, none of the so-called “first-tier” candidates would commit to getting our troops out of Iraq by 2013. Over 5 years from now! Senator Dodd, in contrast, was unequivocal, stating “I will get that done.” This is one of the many reasons that supporters in the Manchester area and throughout the country strongly support Senator Dodd – he remains the only candidate who is committed to ending the Iraq war and has a plan to bring our troops home.
Local Dodd supporter, ML, decided to support Chris Dodd because she has been directly affected by the consequences of the Iraq war. With combined service of over 20 years in the Navy and the Naval Reserve, ML’s brother served in the first Gulf War and has recently been redeployed back to the region. For security purposes ML does not know where her brother is stationed, but is aware of the ramifications and dangers that come with being deployed. ML wants a Presidential candidate who will end this war and bring her brother, and all the other brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers currently serving in Iraq, back to their families. She joined the campaign the day Senator Dodd voted to de-fund the war in Iraq and has been working in earnest to assure his nomination since that time. We are proud to have ML as part of the Dodd for President team and will continue to work with her and others impacted by the war in Iraq to support Senator Dodd’s efforts to end the war.
