Though the day started with temperatures in the teens and cloud covering touching the tops of Des Moines' tallest buildings, it's turned into a beautiful, clear day in Iowa. Seeing the sun is a great feeling after two days of snow and gray skies. The weather hasn't held us back yet, though, and we're making sure we maximize every minute in the closing days of the Iowa caucus.
While Senator Dodd has been on the road today with stops in Denison, Carroll, and Sioux City, the campaign headquarters has been filled today with volunteers phone banking to make the case for Democrats here to caucus for Chris Dodd on January 3rd. We've also launched a door to door canvass in the Des Moines area to bring Dodd supporters face to face with the people who will bring our campaign to caucus success.
The work going on in this office today while the Senator is traveling around the state is a strong reminder of the tireless work going on in support of Chris Dodd. The collection of volunteers in the office today include fire fighters, Iowans who support longtime friends and family from Connecticut, and people who've known and worked with Chris Dodd for years.
Here are a few pictures from the phone banking this afternoon:

Here is a random thought. Which past democratic president has been a bigger critic of the Bush policies? Pres. Carter or Pres. Clinton? Why is that?
Here's another thought. If Sen. Clinton is presidential material what exactly was she doing the eight years her husband was in office that was real leadership. If she was content being first lady and just wanted to travel around the world on meet and greets that's fine but if she has presidential aspirations the she should have done something for the country during those eight years. What was it?
How about this thought. I would image that Pres. Clinton as a previous president would have access to all kinds of information about what the neocons were up to. Where were the warning flags from him? If him and his wife talked over dinner and such did she not ask? Just what we need, another person we have to start asking what they knew and when.
I don't mean to be negative on anyone, maybe I do, but we got into the mess we're in from too few questions and I want to know what the next leader of this country is about. I feel I can look into Chris Dodd's past actions and see a good leader for our country. All the other candidates make me wonder too much.
