"12 Days of Results" Kick-Off Event in Grinnell

Megan Lubin's picture

Here is some video from the "12 Days of Results" kick-off event in Grinnell on Thursday. Dodd addressed a standing-room-only crowd for about twenty five minutes before turning to the audience members' questions. These videos are some of the best I've seen so far. Stay tuned for more video as the tour continues...

Sound is really poor.

Sound starts of poor but gets better. I think a more important issue is what is the quality of content.

About three years ago, November 2, 2004 to be exact, I was heading out to get out the vote. I was paired with a college student from Duke University. I asked her a couple questions about Senator Kerry to get a conversation started and a subject we both knew about. Well it turned out she knew nothing about Senator Kerry, on the day of the election and actively working for his campaign. She was projecting onto him what she wanted to see, or maybe more accurately trying to cover up something she did not want to see, that is Bush as president. I believe many people did the same for Bush when they projected on him an image of honesty, right-wing ideals, and a concern for their interests.

My concern is that so many people supporting some of the other candidates could be projecting an image of what they want to see. I am not saying that the other candidates might not make wonderful presidents, if they were to get elected, but I believe once they were elected the person in office would not be what they thought they were getting.

The next president will face many challenges and those challenges are going to come at the next president fast and furious. If I could sum up everything I have heard from all the democrats I have listened to over the last few years and put the candidate who would handle challenges in a way that most matched what the people wanted it would be Senator Dodd, hands down. (two definitions of 'hands down' 1) without much effort 2) without question: I mean the second definition)
